Wisconsin State Debate Tournament Accomplishments
The Wisconsin Debate Coaches’ Association has been hosting the State Tournament of Champions since the 1991-1992 season. Since then, it has become Wisconsin’s premier championship event in Policy, Lincoln-Douglas, and Public Forum Debate. While Brookfield Central has put together a dominant run at the State TOC, Marquette has been one of the most successful programs in the tournament’s history and is one of only two schools (the other is Appleton East) to claim state championships in both Policy and Lincoln-Douglas debate.
Beginning with the 2006-2007 season, the State TOC combined with the Wisconsin High School Forensic Association State Championship to form the unified Wisconsin State Debate Tournament. In both 2006-2007 and 2007-2008, Marquette cleared at least one entry to the elimination rounds of Policy, Lincoln-Douglas, and Public Forum Debate.

Marquette has won the policy debate championship in 2000-2001, 2007-2008, and 2008-2009 and finished as the runner-up three times.
