Varsity Policy Team’s First Week of Practice a Success
Posted on August 17th, 2006 by Bill Batterman (Category: Policy Debate)
The Webster Club’s varsity policy debate squad finished up its first full week of practice today with an evidence compilation work session. The debaters were split into two groups to work on negative strategies against conscription (draft) affirmatives and cases dealing with the military’s Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy. Each debater was also given one other case to work on at home with assignments due early next week.
The two team captains, seniors Gaurav Bhatnagar and Nolan Wanecke, served as student leaders for their respective groups. In addition to their own work, Gaurav and Nolan were responsible for assisting their teammates and coordinating their groups’ assignments and they will be helping the other students with their assigned case negatives.
The practice ended with a trip to IHOP for a late lunch. Photos of the varsity team members in attendance at today’s session are available below the fold.
