Debate Topics for 2006-2007 Released by National Forensic League

The National Forensic League has released the September/October topic for Lincoln-Douglas Debate and the September topic for Public Forum Debate. LD topics rotate every two months while the Public Forum topic changes each month. The topics are as follows:

2006 September/October Lincoln Financial Group/NFL L/D Debate Topic

Resolved: A just government should provide health care to its citizens.

2006 September Public Forum Topic

Resolved: That the benefits of NASA’s space exploration programs justify the costs.

The national policy debate resolution has been known for several months. This year the national resolution is as follows:

Resolved: The United States federal government should establish a policy substantially increasing the number of persons serving in one or more of the following national service programs: AmeriCorps, Citizen Corps, Senior Corps, Peace Corps, Learn and Serve America, Armed Forces.

Webster Club debaters compete in all three debate formats on the local, state, regional, and national levels.
